I am not sure how reliable Shelley’s telling of history is. It is certainly colored by his anti authoritarian views. The prose and arguments are incredible to read. Their sweep, precisely the matter that casts the history in doing, allows for extensive considerations of the kind that contemporary writing, narrowed as it always is to one policy issue, or else one area where the writer feels they can promote their expertise, cannot contemplate. To change the prevailing feeling of an age requires much writing of great sweep to be conducted. In creating Biblish, I have embarked upon a proxy war of narrow consideration, as a part of my writing is the direct promotion of this service, but I must remember to write generally.
